How to clean wooden toys?
Wooden toys are usually already impregnated but sometimes they are made of raw wood. In this case, they need to be impregnated yourself, e.g. with edible oil or a special varnish. After impregnation, they can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. If possible, it is also better to protect them from moisture. So do not wash them under a jet of water; a slightly damp cloth without detergents is quite sufficient. If a toy becomes very dirty, e.g. if it has been covered with plasticine, it is best to scrape it off gently. Beware of strong detergents – wood can absorb them, which is harmful for your child! If you must use a chemical detergent, choose a mild soap or a small amount of a natural product. It’s also a good idea to disinfect toys from time to time, preferably using a special product for this material.
How often you should clean baby toys?
Of course – we do this every time they get dirty, however, this is not the only condition. A lot also depends on the environment in your home. If we have pets, let’s do it more often, also, if your child has been ill recently, it’s worth to clean the toys. Regardless, regular toy care is essential when you have a baby in the house. It is assumed that this should then be done about once a month. If you have an older child, you can clean them a little less often.
